What a delightful surprise on our last day in New Orleans! We stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning before driving back home to Birmingham, and we're greeted by such a sweet person, with a genuine smile that immediately put us in a great mood. She seated us right away and we ordered pretty soon thereafter. Our cappuccinos & food came out fast, and everything was so good! I had the corn cakes covered with hollandaise & bacon bits (chunks!), and my partner had Da St. Phillip. Both were outstanding and well presented. The cappuccinos were very good too. Who Dat seems like a neighborhood spot with regulars the staff knows. As we were about to leave, I saw a tall older gentleman come in, moving very slowly. He was greeted enthusiastically by a staff member (owner/manager?) who seemed to know him. They chatted and he got what he needed from their case of baked goods. As he was leaving, walking slowly, this staff member found his way to the back like he was working on some task. But from my perspective, it looked like he just came back to make sure the gentleman got out the back door and down the couple of steps safely. He was just helping the guy out and trying not to make him feel self-conscious about it. It was a casual act of kindness that was beautiful and has stuck with me as the last and best thing I saw during our trip to this lovely old city. TEN STARS. ❤️

i mean.. i just wanted to have my coffee and something sweet, to sit down for a while and maybe come back with a husband for breakfast.
you came up with the idea: « tables are for dining ». you place - you rules. but can you be nicer than : « you can’t sit down but i will let you know if i need a table »
i don’t sit where i’m not welcome, so i just got coffee to go. coffee with milk haven’t had milk. cheesecake had an eyelash on it.
you all seem be good people, could you put a little bit more love and attention to what you do? can you come up with a nicer way to communicate to people that only those who eat will be seated? new orleans really was last place where i expected to be discriminated because i prefer little dessert over a breakfast early in the day..
well, coffee was good.
cheesecake looked good, but i’ll pass trying something with hair on it.

I love this place and sitting outside is very mindful. The food has always been good. Corn cakes are delish but I wanted to try something new today. Dirty chai was outstanding.

Great breakfast. Cleaned my plate. Cute restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere. Prices were more than reasonable. The folks working were hilarious. Sat outside under the awning and enjoyed a delicious Bloody Mary. Highly recommend.

It’s time like these when you wish you could give half stars.

I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast.

Quaint neighborhood cafe

Frozen chicken fried steak

Amazingly friendly Staff

Overcooked potatoes

Wonderful homemade sausage gravy

No bread or biscuit offered as most other places. Ala carte biscuit was $4.14

Wonderful homemade strawberry jam

No eggs offered as most other places. Ala carte egg was $1.40

Nice presentation

Total w/ $2.59 OJ (Minute Maid out of a jug), taxes, tip: $35.54

I’d love to give it 3.5 - 4 stars as they do many things very well. However when you throw in a frozen patty, overcooked potatoes, and $35.54 tab for one person, I just can’t.

Delightful place! This is an excellent place for breakfast and lunch. I work over night and it’s becoming something I look forward to when I get off work. Their menu is perfect! Breakfast and lunch served at 730 am allows me to have some variety when I get off a long shift at the hospital. The good is delicious and reasonably priced and the service is perfect! Friendly, scrumptious, and efficient, I’m already looking to returning for my next meal out.
