Our experience at the W Seattle was not at all what I expected. The location was great and that was a huge positive. However, as a platinum elite member at Marriott, the services provided by W in Seattle were sadly sub par. The front desk was most unhelpful when we tried to change our room. The attendant hardly cracked a smile. She simply did not seem to know what platinum elite even meant and appeared bored. We could not eat outside food in the lobby since the lobby is also serving as a hotel restaurant/bar. My daughter was eating in the bar area and was asked to leave since she is not 21. The breakfast was good, but had to be purchased from the menu. The rooms were good size and beds were comfortable but small (full size) for a double.

The hotel charges a resort fee for which you get tickets to different attractions and you also get credit for food at the hotel. That is great, but it forces the guests to eat in the hotel and do those specific activities such as the Seattle art museum and the Ferris Wheel. We ended up cutting our stay short and we changed hotels to the Renaissance in Seattle which was wonderful.

Nice clean and comfortable rooms, good location, valet parking is convenient. Food and drinks are good but have a Seattle premium price. Staff were all nice but seemed very disorganized. Waiting over 20+ minutes to be acknowledged by staff at the bar, then longer to order just 2 drinks. Only one desk staff at noon check out. Enjoyed our stay overall though.

The W Seattle has a cool design throughout. The guest rooms are well appointed. The only problem is noise: The walls are too thin and you can hear stuff from nearby rooms. More annoying is the plumbing: If anyone takes an early shower above or below your room, you will be awakened by the water rushing in the pipes that go from floor to floor. Poor design… The breakfast is served at the cafe connected to the lobby. Brunch-like menu until 2pm. Very good. I would have given a five-star rating were it not for the noise… Maybe it will bother you less than me

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding, we also had our rehearsal & dinner at the hotel as well; it was a magical stay. Our room was so cool, we had a view of Mt. Rainer from our bed! Ciara was absolutely wonderful to work with, so sweet. The food we had at our rehearsal dinner was so delicious and I am so happy we did the Dim Sum Station because the leftovers made a great midnight snack.

Room was nice and clean, we had views of downtown from our window. Hotel lobby was incredibly loud with a DJ and dance music when we first arrived which definitely didn't feel like a hotel lobby and was difficult to hear the front desk. Valet was full so we had to park in a different garage for more cost per day. It being located in downtown it was a quick 5 minute walk down the street to the pier which was great.

We attended a wedding at the W. Location was easily reachable via SeaTac light rail. Just be prepared to walk up hill to get there. Check-in and check out was simple. They held our luggages for free so we can explore the town before departing Seattle. Rooms were clean. Cleaning service was great. Adequate towel quantity. Bathrooms are not exhaust vented which steamed up the room really fast when showering. Front desk operator got busy and at times, busy no answer when called. Lobby included complimentary fruit and citrus infused cold water. DJ entertainment kept the late evening buzzing at the bar lounge. As a wedding venue, it was excellent. Do take advantage of the fitness center and free yoga.

At an average of $100 more a night than the surrounding upscale hotels this experience was very disappointing. Given that I booked less than 24 hrs in advance and all room types were available I was surprised to be told at check in there were no upgrades available. I was even more surprised that very uncharacteristically the front desk did not thank or even acknowledge my lifetime titanium elite status, the main reason for choosing this hotel at higher price was my loyalty to the brand. Front desk staff was quite aloof for an upscale brand.
At $68 the valet is comparable, but most expensive in the area. No text or call service offered for valet.
The hotel did not have a concierge lounge and did not offer any amenity for status in the absence of.
The next morning at 8:50 am I went to get coffee in lobby, I was getting the last 1/2 cup in carafe. Very rude attendant came, I thought to switch carafe, but was told "you got the last cup, we stop coffee at 9:00." 9 am, on a Sunday?
Definitely would suggest one of the two Kimptons over the W if you find yourself in downtown Seattle. Very disappointing for a brand I spend over 120 nights a year in.
