We are currently at VEA hotel for a friends getaway. The location has beautiful views of the ocean. Stunning sunsets!|We had an issue our first night with noise from other guests in the hallway and around our room, and Brian Bartells at the front desk was quick to help find us a different room. We moved to the other room later that afternoon and it was better than our first room! A patio with loungers and chairs and amazing views. Thank you Brian! We did encounter issues with the a/c in this room, but they are working on getting that fixed today.|All of the staff we have encountered during our stay so far have been so lovely. Everyone working around the pool are great at anticipating and helping with anything we need. Love not having to search for someone to order a drink or food, or help with umbrellas!|Great stay!

This Marriott property has always been a favorite nestled between the Newport Beach Country Club and the wonderful Fashion Island shopping plaza. It's a perfect place to mix business and pleasure or, more succinctly, it makes doing business a pleasure. Interior design and styling were first-rate. I loved the floor-to-ceiling sliders in the room that essentially made the room indoor/outdoor even without a balcony. ||This was my first time staying here since the renovation and re-branding as a VEA property. They did a wonderful job through and through. I also noted, to my surprise, that this hotel (along with the recently transformed Pendry across the street) exuded a nice social buzz in the public spaces, bringing some real sophistication and vitality back to Fashion Island. Bravo.||Why not 5-stars? Well, no ironing board/iron in the room which is a "no no" for all the business travelers that use this property. I had to use the old trick of hanging my linen shirt in the steam shower. They passed the eggs Benedict test visually, i.e., perfectly poached eggs and creamy hollandaise. Unfortunately the eggs, Canadian bacon and english muffin were stone cold (yet the crispy potatoes were hot). On the upside, the staff was exemplary, remembering my name upon return, etc. A special shout out to bartender Tyler for knowing how to take care of patrons with just the right amount of banter.||Would I stay again? For sure !

I'm a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member who has collected well over a million points over the years. I love the brand and even have a Bonvoy credit card.||The property is lovely. The staff EXCEPTIONAL. I couldn't believe how nice, helpful and welcoming every employee was from the front desk at check in to the valet, bell men, bar, restaurant staff and housekeeping. It really made our stay better. Definitely the biggest asset to this "resort."||Our hotel room was showing signs of wear and tear. Wallpaper coming up in the bathroom and an older mattress. And there is a moving wall in the bedroom that exposes the shower. That design confused both me and my spouse. Very odd choice of design, unless it was to allow sunlight into the bathroom. ||The room was extremely clean, as was the bathroom.||The bed is showing age and the pillows were absolutely the WORST pillows I've ever had to put my head down on. Even Marriotts more affordable brands have better pillows. ||And then there is the noise. We were on the 9th floor of a 10 story building. I couldn't imagine booking a weekend of spa treatments only to deal with the loudest HVAC system I've ever heard. All night there was a loud droning sound coming from the exhaust fans on the first floor and it prevented us from sleeping through the night. The noise, along with the pillows are the reason for the 3 stars. ||VEA Resort and Spa has a very hight price point. And for that, everything at the hotel should be on par with that price point. The employees meet that price point, but the room, mattress and HVAC noise did not. Get rid of the sliding glass doors and install soundproof glass!||The food at the restaurant was fantastic. Waygu beef burger was perfectly cooked, some of the best fries I've ever had. The Eggs Benedict was also very good with a delicious hollandaise sauce. Coffee was also top notch. ||Because of the noise, I wouldn't stay here again. I can spend just as much, if not more, at other resorts in Newport Beach and get a better nights sleep.

I loved my stay at The Vea. In full honesty, I won a night stay here from The Scouted Guide. My only complaint is that I want to stay longer so I can take advantage of the amenities. ||From check in to check out, the service in phenomenal. Every employee is so kind and smiling. I had a partial ocean view, but the whole view was ocean. The shower is so nice, I would have loved a bathtub but the shower being sooo nice made up for it. I had a drink and a bite at the Edge bar. It had lovely views and relatively fairly priced items for the area. The room has wine glasses, Nespresso, bath amenities and the bed is so comfy. I got an amazing night of sleep. ||I loved the wellness shot this morning. I was going to get a mimosa but the healthier option actually got to me. |I believe the property has bikes you can rent. I saw some kids getting board games from the front too. I saw various lawn games throughout the property. ||I really don’t want to leave.

My daughter and I spent a night here as a staycation getaway and it was perfect. I hadn’t stayed here since the renovation, and I was blown away by the changes. The pool area is amazing.||What made our brief stay so special was the staff. It started with a very friendly valet from HB and a wonderful check in with Alexis who went above and beyond to make our night special. ||We had a fire pit room on the fairway which was phenomenal and really peaceful. Alexis sent a S’more kit to our room along with a sweet note which was waiting for us when we got back from dinner. This was definitely a highlight.||In the morning, we had breakfast at the hotel and it was really good.||We will definitely be back, but probably with the rest of the family since they were jealous.

Porter Mattias is the absolute best! So helpful and such a great attitude. Keep it up! The hotel was very nice too, with a great view and great accomodations. Room was clean and comfortable. Elevator was a little hard to find, but no big deal. Location was very nice.

Very unique style, hotel and the approach from the staff to the amazing breakfast, lunch, dinner and show were beyond expectation. Jay at the restaurant was FANTASTIC!!!!The room were cleaned, spacious and have all the necessary toiletries - You are the best and kindest unique people we have ever met during our stay. I will definitely go back again and enjoy my stay . You definitely need to try all the restaurants there, amazing food and drinks...plenty of water activities to do as well||Read less

Stayed the weekend for a work related conference. During our stay, we ran into Matthias Beck (on multiple occasions). What a class act. So positive! Best service I can recall having visited several nearby properties over the years. 5 ⭐️ attitude (which is hard to come by these days— especially with younger employees). His boss better give the kid a raise or I’ll hire him! Room was also solid. Good sleep. Comfortable.
