Price gouging & Poor staff service. Charge $9 for bottle water, $10 for beer from the room and store. $45 for parking. I booked two beds suite room, and it got changed to a king size bed at check in I asked to change it back to two beds and staff told me i have to pay $50 a night extra charge. Instead of graciously offer me the room that is available, she insisted on charging $150 extra for my 3 night stay. After a long discussion she finally waive the charge. This is at 2:30am when i got to the hotel. I really don’t appreciate this. Utterly ridiculous. Great location. Too bad i would have chosen this facility as my go to visiting my daughter in college. *** in response to the company comment: it is not geniute. and the amentiy of the hotel is old. shower head water barely comes out. A lot of improvement is needed.

A dated and awful place. Gross bathrooms. $45 self park a night!!!!!! Worst part is the lobby restaurant and bar. A Vodka soda is $17…whaaat! Out of basic alcohol that is on the menu. Bartender is a total rookie… Smallest pour in NB. Food is terrible. It truly is insane.

The front desk lady acted very irritated to deal with us. We won't be staying there again because of her.
The breakfast was ridiculously priced, especially for having egg shells on the pancakes.
The room was nice and clean though.

Really liked this place , room was very big and spacious. Was our first trip with our baby which was great . At night they had a kid movie playing in the patio area which was a great view from the balcony. We checked out the pool area and gym area . Pool was busy and had a warm pool which was nice . Since it was pretty chilly out. Gym was nice , had pretty much everything you needed . We went to the restaurant in the Am which was a little pricey but convenient since nothing is around that area walking distance.

Rooms are really large and clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for a solid hotel and don’t mind that it’s not super updated, this is a great spot!

Sad. We used to love this place and we, family and guests have been here scores of times over 20 years. We will never return.
Just checked in - almost no one's here - requested a view room (which half of the hotel rooms are) and almost all of those are empty). The front desk guy refused our request and put us in the parking lot view room.
Amazing, with over 100 empty rooms they prefer keeping them empty and losing a customer.
I run an organization that does conferences and just booked 250 Marriott rooms for one of them. Time to move on from Marriott.

We had a king suite with a balcony. The pictures included are the view from our balcony, riddled with cigarette butts and a switchblade! The room was dusty and not cleaned properly. Not what I expect from a Marriot or a resort in Newport. Very disappointed. We have stayed here numerous times but the place has really gone downhill.
Upon check out, while already being very disappointed, the lady at the front desk completely ignored me and the other guests waiting. Not even an, I’ll be right with you, just completely ignored us.

We arrived at the hotel at 2.30pm. Couldn’t check in so pre checked and was told rooms were close to each other||Left luggage with hotel went out for food and waited for text. First text came at 17.36 for 1 room. ||We returned to hotel to find out both rooms were ready but on different floors||We booked 2 family rooms. Was made to feel a little stupid when I mentioned to reception there’s only a king and a sofa in the room. To be told with an eye roll that there was also a Murphy bed ( no mention of that when I called the day before). We had no idea there was a bed in the wall! |Also the bed needed making up, we were told after asking, there’s a couple of blankets in the cupboard. |The rooms are a little tired and the Murphy bed uncomfortable. The king was good. The bathroom was dated with stained shower tiles and old bathtub. ||Couldn’t find the room service menu turns out there’s a QR code on the TV menu…..problem is the WiFi isn’t great so unable to access the menu. My daughters ended up ordering out, whist I got dressed and headed to reception to order room service. |The service at the bar and pool area was great. Friendly helpful staff and the food was good. |Unfortunately I wouldn’t say here again. Just too many issues, and I felt the reception staff were disinterested and not sincere. |As a member of Marriott Bonvoy I try to always book a hotel from the group. |Now onto San Diego and just booked a Hyatt!
