I came in for a bonding consult that was originally priced for $300-$400 over the phone. After I met with the dentist, it was about (jumpscare) $1,000 to redo my bonding on all four sides & add a pulp cap. I was reluctant but agreed (with a 15% discount for first-time visits….if I got it done right then and there.)

The reason why I’m giving this 1-star (1.5 stars if I could) is because this office was not a good environment. They specialize in simple adult & pediatric orthodontic work. If I had known this PRIOR TO the procedure, I would have LEFT. The dentist and team were confident enough. “Yeaahhh you can get this done! Today even!” Mmhm yeah, right. The office’s billing manager came in swiftly after my 10-minute consult. Between the three people I spoke to no concerns were raised at all. They began removing my old bonding without taking any comparison pictures. That was the first red flag ? My dentist was patient but I immediately sensed something was off. He visibly started to struggle with the aesthetic aspect of the bonding. He proceeded to do his “technique” (his words) of working on the composite hunched AWAY from me without saying a word. Could not see what was going on or what he was even doing. Second red flag ?. When he asked me to look in the mirror at his first attempt, I was unhappy and borderline pissed. It was unnatural and worse than the one I came in with. Suboptimal but was presented to me as good enough. So I’m sitting there, lips numb and mouth wide open like a nutcracker, asking for second opinions from another worker in the room. They were extremely reluctant to advocate for me or give me ANY feedback. I figured maybe there was tension in the air that had nothing to do with me. That was the third and final red flag ?. This is every patient’s worst nightmare: anxiety, mistrust, and lack of transparency. NO upfront and honest communication. My past experience with a different dental office was easygoing, planned out, and supportive. I vividly recall my old dentist asking me AND her assistant for our thoughts throughout the visit. I’m glad I had this to draw back on!

After pestering the dentist with more questions about his composite experience, he apologized for failing to notice that this was “not as simple” as he originally thought but that he’s “done just as much composites as veneers” (a big jump from saying he could make it look perfect during my consult.) I gave him an opportunity then to take accountability about his inexperience and he didn’t. Hands still in my mouth and all. This did NOT inspire confidence. Sometime after the first hour or so, I decided to show him pictures of my past work (GOOD THING I HAD THAT!) as guidance. I guess maybe since we were alone he was more receptive to my feedback. I was LUCKY that this was not my first time! This office visit could have easily been traumatic. I’ve had countless experiences like these.

The dentist was not a bad guy but MIND YOU!! I was assured the procedure was straightforward during our consult. Unfortunately, the reality was much more complicated, and I wasn’t given the clarity or confidence I needed until MUCH later into the process. To my dentist’s credit, he was patient enough to keep reworking the bonding (for two hours, I might add) until I was OK with it. I thanked him multiple times because I could tell he put in more effort than he planned to. Though I did leave with my gums bleeding and more trust issues than I walked in with. My new composite also doesn’t fit in my retainers. Was this another pocket draining office? Yes. Do I forgive them? NO!!!

TL;DR I have enough respect and compassion to keep every staff member in my review anonymous, but that is more respect than any of them showed me. This is my personal experience, and I understand others may have had better outcomes, but for anyone considering cosmetic bonding or more complex procedures, my experience serves as a cautionary tale. If you’re looking for a practice where communication, transparency, and trust are central, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Went to KA Dental in West Boynton for my 12 month cleaning. I had the best dental hygienist I have ever had, I believe his name was Hunter, but I have never in my 60 some years left the dentist after a cleaning without some minor pain; however, this time no pain at all. The dentist was also very thorough and made me feel more comfortable with what was needed. The cleaning itself was very fast but thorough, again with no pain at all. The office staff is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend the Boynton West KA Dental office.
