Beautiful old Hotel. After 3 tries for a room with A/C we upgraded to the Bell Tower Suite. My husband has 35% lung function and cannot breathe or sleep well in a warm room. The Bell Tower was nice! Great views! The Hotel really needs some good help. The one bartender was very slow, the housekeeping staff was lacking and we finally found a bellman to help with loading the day we left. After I climbed the stairs and walked every floor searching for a cart, asking the front desk (absolutely no help), we found a very helpful young man to help load our vehicle. He was not happy that the front desk did not call him to begin with. All in all our stay was enjoyable. The room was comfortable and as I mentioned, the views were phenomenal! Our breakfast waitress was very nice and took good care of us too. The Hotel has great potential, it definitely needs better management.

What a fantastic stay we just had at the Hotel Colorado!!
It’s a beautiful property with interesting history to take in, with something new to learn each time we walked through taking different routes. And the location really couldn’t be beat for those who like a short walk!

The bed was very comfortable, nice tall ceilings, and it was great to have a ceiling fan along with the window AC unit. Being a historic building, you can hear quite a few noises (the building sounds, other guests, and there was also street construction at this time), but playing white noise and having a small speaker totally helped. Perhaps mini fridges are only on request.. that would have been nice in the room.

We really enjoyed the easy walk over the well-lit pedestrian bridge to the train station, Glenwood hot springs, and restaurant row with a range of great choices!

All staff we encountered were welcoming and professional. Courtney and Heber at the front desk were so personable and hospitable, really starting us on the right foot for a very enjoyable trip!
And Alex who served us in both restaurant areas (inside and on the beautiful courtyard patio) was excellent with such a kind presence. PS Thank you for having gluten free toast available!

This hotel is definitely has an interesting history but it really just feels old. Our room was an average size and the bed was comfortable and it felt clean but as many have said the bathroom is very small. We did not have any issues with hot water and the window air conditioner kept the room cool but was quite noisy. It is in a great location.||I think that you can't be taken in by the notion of it's history alone, the hotel is really mainly just old so you have to be OK with that. I can't say that I would recommend it but we enjoyed our time here.

Recent furniture renovations are well done and comfortable on a charming, beautiful, historical hotel. Unfortunately, there is no soundproofing in the rooms. I felt like I was in a tent at campground next to a fraternity house. You not only hear the guests in all the rooms around and above you, but all the parties in and outside the hotel. The hotel is a lively place and it's great to see it's still so popular, but I can't say I will stay here again.

This place was a modern step back in time! The ownership did incredible with modern upgrades while maintaining the historic aspec of it all. The staff was absolutely invested in making the stay as pleasant as possible, they truly cared about the wife and myself. 10/10 if you care about history rather than a refrigerator in your room!

Aging hotel with great history in a great location across from pools. Hotel is clearly being updated and everything wirked well. Very comfortable and functional. Restaurant was good. Service was good and all staff were very pleasant. Large rooms. One elevator could mean a wait. Water took a few minutes to heat up.

Being a native of Glenwood Springs, I have years of memories of visiting this hotel. Unfortunately, it only exists now from it's previous reputation. I understand the hotel is "historic", but that doesn't excuse the effort that modern staples can't be exist. No ramps to get into the hotel, only stairs. The front desk lobby staff often wore street clothes and you had no way of telling them apart from a guest or employee. The staff were generally unwelcoming, unhappy, and displeased with themselves. The coffee shop "ran out" out of coffee during the morning. Parking is not included in the original booking fee, which is not well stated on the website. There is zero soundproofing in the rooms and you can clearly see light coming through the door from the outside hallway. Aside from all this, the hotel is very unclean with multiple areas of dust, dead bugs, marks on the walls, aging tile, unvacuumed floors and cobwebs. This hotel and property possess so much potential but there are far too many factors to consider ever coming back.

This was a fun hotel with a great deal of history. I would stay again. It is purported to be haunted, but we did not experience anything of the sort. We ordered beer and onion rings at the seating areo outside. They arrived in a very timely manner, and they were good.
