The food and service was spectacular. Our server Ethan was super attentive and hospitable. He went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable while dining in the outdoor area despite the heat. Once Ethan’s shift was over he made sure we were taken care of with the test of the team, which was deeply appreciated.

The Harissa Chicken Salad was a 12/10 in terms of flavor diversity. For desert I got the Banana French Toast, and that was also superb.

Overall, excellent experience.

We had an unexpectedly great experience at this restaurant! We were on our way to the High Line when we noticed it, and even though it was pretty packed, we decided to give it a try. The wait was about 40 minutes, but it was absolutely worth it. Despite how busy it was, the customer service was excellent—friendly and attentive throughout.

We ordered the Smashing Avo Benny, which came with scrambled eggs, smashed avocado on an English muffin, and hollandaise sauce. I chose a side salad with arugula, and it was fresh and light. We also had the French Classic Toast, which was perfectly done and served with strawberries and blueberries, a sweet and satisfying combo. The cappuccino was creamy and rich, and the hot chocolate was equally delicious.

The only small downside was that they could use another restroom, especially during busy times. But overall, the experience was fantastic, and we’ll definitely be back!

This breakfast/brunch spot is pretty solid, all things considered. Unique selection on the menu, and plenty to choose from. The coffee options were also pretty good, too.

It’s not the most economical place to grab a bite, but the food quality feels pretty good for the price.

My one complaint is that the place isn’t air conditioned, and I was there on a very hot and humid summer day… It wasn’t ideal being covered in a layer of sweat while eating my meal. They had fans and stuff, which helped, but if I’m sitting inside at a restaurant, I’d hope to at least be more comfortable.

We had an awesome experience at Citizens in Chelsea! The food was outstanding—definitely recommend the banana bread French toast, butterscotch fluffy pancakes, and the cheddar biscuit. Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented.

The only slight downside was the side of eggs I ordered, which could have used a bit more seasoning.

Service was top-notch, though—prompt, attentive, and genuinely sweet. Lesly was amazing and made our visit even better.

We had the most delicious breakfast here! The atmosphere is amazing and the service was welcoming and extremely attentive. Louie was our server and he was so sweet! They helped us celebrate our 10 year anniversary.

The food and service were outstanding! The food was amazing and good quality for the price and all the staff were very kind and brought out a free French toast for my bf’s birthday which was delicious! I came a bit early for my reservation and the servers were able to open a table for me in a few minutes which I really appreciated!

But there were flies flying around which killed the atmosphere as well as the damaged and stained menus we received. Both of those issues are more administrative so it is not the fault of the servers (who were again, very attentive and amazing). If both of those issues were resolved I would visit this location to dine in again. They may be just small issues but stood out to me a lot on the first impression. Next time I would order take out from this location instead or visit another Citizens of location to dine in.

This place is so cozy and welcoming. Loved the decoration. We had a great experience. The food was really tasty. The eggs your way are a must and the cookie was delicious. They were thoughtful in case of dietary restrictions. Love to come back
