This is the ideal used bookstore. It’s the best used bookstore I’ve found in the Houston area, and possibly in Texas.

Here’s what it gets right: it’s not stacked with the same generic used bookstore stuff, where you can’t move for old James Pattersons and Danielle Steel books. There’s a variety to the selections, going back into the 40s and 50s, where you don’t know what you’re going to find as you browse.

They have actual seats, and a couch! They aren’t scared for you to sit down and read something to see if you’d like it, to take some time to actually browse. Have you ever tried to sit down in a Half Price Books? I would not recommend it.

I usually can work my way through a used bookstore’s collection in half an hour and never need to come in again, but after an hour or so of perusing I’d barely made it past the first few shelves.

It also has a bookstore dog named Olive, who is very friendly, and a bookstore cat, who doesn’t belong to anyone and seems to have moved in on its own, which is the correct way for a bookstore to acquire a cat.

A million stars. I’ll be back.

It was a beautiful and huge bookstore. You could easily spend hours in the store and continue to find something new and interesting. It was a little hard to figure out some of the sections because there were only a few labels for massive shelving sections, but overall, it was a great store with some very neat and older books.

This is what a bookstore should be! Floor to ceiling books with a bunch of rooms that smell like old books, with nice owners, good stories. My daughter got to pet the super sweet shop dog.

We went on a Sunday, so the traffic wasn't too bad, but we still had to park behind the store.

The books stretched back in time to the present. Prices were slightly higher then expected, but this isn't just an old paperback bookstore either. Overall, it was a very nice visit and we will visit again next time we're in the area.

A gem of a bookstore. The ambiance is so welcoming, and the selection and organization make for a superb experience. Vast fiction and non-fiction sections, full of rewarding surprises. Subsections very thoughfully planned - the humor, classical and Shakespearean ones are remarkable. I only wish I had had more time to explore. A beautiful edition of Humboldt's is going home with me. If you love books, do yourself a favor and visit.

Great place with a great story behind it. A selection of books that ranks with the greatest book stores in the world. Truly a blessed place with a rich history. Would recommend it to any book lover. Great prices also. God bless the owners in all of their endeavors in all they do in Jesus Christ mighty name I pray for them amen.

What a lovely bookstore! I wish I could have spent more time here! They have floor to ceiling bookcases throughout the area. And they have everything from fantasy to astronomy to nonfiction. The only type of books they don’t carry is self-help books.

A hidden gem, with books too the ceilling, really enjoyed just browsing and seeing what I could find within their collection.. Plus their 20 yr old Fiddle leaf plant towering over the entrance was a surprise when you first walk in.
