I’m planning on visiting here on 10/03/20 but I wanted to add a review to mention the confusion regarding the location in another review. I’m almost certain the address listed, 1227 N. Sagamore, is correct (it’s directly next to Safari Global Market) but neither of the geotag codes or whatever they’re called are quite right. It’s definitely not the one listed in the Google Maps entry or the one suggested by the business owner, although both are very nearby. Just go by the address, I’m sure that’ll be the best way to find it. A sign or something would probably help, but I’m just looking at street view so maybe there is one now, I’ll update once I stop by. I’m giving it five stars in advance because I strongly support having a halal butcher in the Lafayette area, especially a zabihah halal butcher (although I would think meat would have to be zabihah to be halal, but I’m not an expert or even Muslim so I can’t say for sure). Actually I’m basically vegetarian but I’m glad that there is a convenient source of halal meat for local Muslims and I support the humane slaughter of animals for consumption over the alternative.

ETA: They were supposed to open at 3:00 pm (as of their November 2020 hours update) but they definitely weren’t open then - someone arrived around 4:00 pm but it still didn’t seem open.

The information I provided about the location was meant to help people find your business, since Google Maps would likely lead them astray. I didn’t mean to imply anything negative about your business. I have in fact attempted to correct the location on Google Maps, although I’d have to check again to see if it got approved.

I would gladly visit your store and I was planning to do so, but it wasn’t open during the listed hours of operation so I wasn’t able to at that time. I’m sure there was a good reason the business wasn’t open at the time and I didn’t mean it as a personal attack; I was just reporting my experience to help others planning to visit - for example, they should call ahead to confirm it’s open before driving across town.

Had the opportunity to talk to the owner 🙂 This place is new and has a lot of potential to expand and add more inventory as they grow a solid customer base. Had various selections on beef, chicken and lamb with competitive prices. Will be coming back soon! Also, Google Maps takes you to the cemetery. This store is located next to Safari Global Market and Sharma’s Kitchen. So glad there’s now a proper halal meat store in Lafayette! Definitely check this place out.

Amazing this supplier and he has been quality proven every time. Remarkable customer service, occasional meat deals, deliveries can be fluctuating in time but drivers don't get to make up traffic. Will always be a supporter of KA packing and InshAllah hope we can always work something out with them. May Allah Help Us All.

Great shop! Has a large selection of halal meats and middle eastern spices and foods! I found lebne and thin Arabic bread in Lafayette and had a little party! Go support this business!

They appear closed again, perhaps permanently, at 5pm on a Wednesday. Very disappointed...we were hoping to find a local source for things like tahini, pickled turnips, toum, sumac and other ingredients in our favorite middle eastern dishes.

Hopefully this is just because of the holidays or something...I hope to be able to adjust this to a 5 star review soon!

Staff are very friendly,
meat are fresh and of course halal. Variety of cuts (steak, stew, ribeye, ground beef ... etc) , price is reasonable.

A good and perhaps, only local zabihah halal shop with reasonable prices. The brother claims that the meats are hand-slaughtered, that is hard to find anywhere.

1227A is not the store now....but I called the owner and they provide me an email, you can buy things you want through that.
